Age, Culture, Humanities: An Interdisciplinary Journal

Age, Culture, Humanities promotes cross-disciplinary, critical investigations of the experiences of age, aging, and old age, as seen through the lens of the humanities and arts. The goals are to consider age as a category of identity, advance understanding of the aging process and of age differences across the lifespan, interrogate cultural articulations of aging and old age, and generate innovative, engaging scholarly approaches to the study of age and aging in the humanities. Age, Culture, Humanities is an open access journal and is affiliated with and supported by the European Network in Aging Studies (ENAS) and the North American Network (NANAS) in Aging Studies.

The journal is moving from the Atheneum Press of Coastal Carolina University to the Royal Library of Denmark and will reopen for submissions in 2022. We are looking for a committed, reliable, and thorough editorial assistant to take on the following tasks:

  • Manage the online submission system,
  • Guide the review process,
  • Language-edit accepted manuscripts,
  • Upload copy-edited manuscripts on the website.

The reward for these tasks will be financially supported with funds from ENAS and NANAS amounting to € 1,500 for the calendar year of 2022. If you are a native speaker of English and an early career scholar with expertise in the cultural study of age, aging, and later life (or in cultural/literary studies more in general) and have an interest in this position, please send a 1-2 page CV, a short letter of motivation, and an endorsement from a more senior colleague to wohlmann@sdu.dk and a.swinnen@maastrichtuniversity.nl before January 8, 2022.
